Prep cruises past MRA 50-14

Jackson, MS — Jackson Prep defeated the Patriots of MRA last Friday by a score of 50-14 to remain perfect with a record of 9-0.

After a scoreless first quarter by both teams, Prep’s offense exploded for 3 touchdowns in a two minute span to start the second quarter. At halftime, the game remained in reach for MRA with a score of 22-7. MRA closed the gap with a touchdown to start the second half bringing the score to 22-14. Prep then went on to tack on 28 unanswered points on their way to victory.

Many Patriots showed out last Friday including quarterback Chance Lovertich. Lovertich threw for 287 yards and 5 touchdowns, making him the star of the game. Senior Jake Maloney accounted for 70 all-purpose yards and caught two touchdown passes. Wide receiver and defensive back Maddox Henry caught 5 passes for 91 yards and a touchdown, while tacking on an interception on the defensive side of the ball. Jerrion Ealy continued to do Jerrion Ealy things by racking up 205 yards of total offense and 3 touchdowns. Prep looks to carry their momentum into the coming weeks as the MAIS Playoffs approach.
