The Chinese language at Jackson Prep is on the rise as Prep is now offering Chinese as a core language. This means that students can take Chinese to get their two language credits for graduation.

In the past, students could only take Chinese after taking two years of another language.

This is also the first year that Prep is offering a third year of Chinese. Chinese III focuses on a lot of reading of Chinese myths and parables. It also focuses on learning to read a lot of modern Chinese writing such as advertisements.

Ms. Jane Zhu, the Chinese instructor, said, “I am excited about Chinese III because it allows me to take the level of learning to the next level.”
