Year-End Wrap-Up: JCL

From Issue 7

NJCL_emblemThe Junior Classical League, or JCL for short, is a club much like Spanish, French, and Asian club that encompasses the Latin and Greek Classes.

A club that promotes the classics from ancient Greece and Rome, the club enjoys making the activities of these civilizations known to the student body through the various activities.

Often, the club puts on a small gladiator fight or ship battle to be seen in the amphitheatre during Foreign Language Week. The club’s sponsor is Mr. Hogue, who uses his room as the meeting place for the club on every second Tuesday of the month.

It is recommended that students who join the club take either Latin or Greek to be able to join, although this is not necessary for entry. The Junior Classical League is good opportunity for students who want to learn more about the classics and ancient cultures.
