College Fair set for September 17

From Issue 1

The College Counseling Office is excited to announce that this year’s College Fair will be held on Tuesday, September 17, from 6:30 until 9:00 pm.  Representatives from approximately 100 colleges and universities from across the country will gather in Prep’s gym to meet with students and share information regarding admissions, financial aid, and student life at their respective schools.

Students in grades 9-12 are invited to attend.  “[It] is important for students to attend at every stage of their high school experience because it is an opportunity to learn about colleges both near and far that may be a great fit for them when they graduate,” says Ms. Malika Lindsay, the Director of College Counseling.  The College Fair is an excellent setting for upperclassmen to make “personal connections with the representatives from the schools they are interested in,” according to Ms. Lindsay.

Students will also have the chance to meet with admissions representatives from over 30 colleges during individual visits throughout the 2019-2020 school year.  “We hope that students in all grades will take advantage of our college counseling programming to learn more about their educational opportunities after graduation,” says Mr. Hunter Upchurch, the Associate Director of College Counseling.
