At the Junior High staff meeting on the morning of November 12, Ms. Trudy Powers announced that she will end her many years at Jackson Prep by retiring in the spring.

Ms. Powers has been a part of the Prep Family for the past 38 years, and she has served in many aspects of the school. Her work at Prep has included being involved as a member of the Support Services program, Student and Family Services, and with Prep’s community service. In the past years, she has served as the Junior High Division Head.

Trudy received a Bachelor’s degree from Millsaps College in Psychology with a minor in Education. She also earned a degree from the University of Mississippi in Community Counseling with a minor in Special Education.

Using these degrees, she developed a love for teaching that serves as a foundation for the legacy that she will leave at Prep.

The faculty, parents, and students will forever remember the impact she has left not only on the Junior High but on Jackson Prep as a whole.
