To Kill a Mockingbird, the play, is based on the famous book by Harper Lee, and will be put on at Jackson Prep on April 26th, 27th, and 28th. Auditions will be held on February 4th and 5th. To sign up to audition go to the Jackson Prep website. There are roles for all grades, 6th-12th. Anyone can be in the play even if they have never been in one. There is going to be a choir in the play, so singers are needed.

Director Ms. Jessica Wilkinson chose to put on this play because it is her favorite book. She even named her dog Boo Radley after one of the main characters in the book. She has always wanted to put on a production because of her love for it, and her love for acting. Her favorite characters are Atticus and Scout because Atticus is so noble and Scout is the story teller.

Having been in multiple plays, commercials, and movies, Mrs. Wilkinson has much experience with the acting world. The play will be almost exactly like the book. There are going to be some things left out because of the time limit, but it should please the book’s many fans.
