As the school year is coming to a close, one of our final pet profiles features a different type of pet than previous issues.

Junior Hannah Carter, recently invested in a hamster. When asked why Hannah wanted a hamster she replied, “I was scrolling through Tiktok and a hamster was on my for you page. It was at that moment I knew it was what I needed. By that afternoon I had fulfilled my sporadic desire.”

Winnie is a five-month old bear hamster, whose name was inspired by the famous Winnie the Pooh. Her favorite thing to eat is broccoli. Anytime Winnie hears her food coming she quickly stands up on her back legs. She is a friendly hamster and enjoys being played with. Winnie is fairly active but there is not a lot you can do with her other than feed and cuddle with her.

Hannah’s dogs eventually warmed up to her, but at first they were unsure of the new arrival. “Miss Hammy,” as the Carter family often refers to her as, is extremely fluffy and very cuddly.

Hannah loves her new pet hamster, and is making memories with Winnie during quarantine.
