Spoilery Spider-Man Speculations
WARNING: THESE RUMORS COULD BECOME SPOILERS
If you’re a big Marvel fan, you might have heard whisperings about a new Spider-man movie coming out on December 17, 2021. Not much about it has been released, but a thing we do know is the name: Spider-Man: No Way Home, from when the latest cast of Zendaya, Jacob, and Tom teased the name of the movie on their Instagrams before finally giving the real name. This was an ode to Tom Holland’s mess up when he “accidentally” spoiled Endgame on his Instagram live. We also know the cast, which is rumored to consist of old villains from other Spider-man movies making an appearance.
There are currently three separate Spiderman characters. Disney, after a feud with Sony back in 2014, now has the right to each Spiderman plot. To every Marvel fan who has watched all three, the question of why there are multiple Spiderman universes has been asked among the mass.
This has caused many fans to make speculations about what might happen in the film. Some say that two previous Spiderman characters (Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield) might swing into this new film, although Garfield recently denied participation. The plot is rumored to follow something similar to the cartoon version of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse that was released in 2018. With an appearance of Benedict Cumberbatch, this plot conspiracy does make sense as Doctor Strange is known to be the multiverse man.
Fans continued with this plot and came up with the following: The multiverse is breaking and villains from each world are traveling to other universes, so Doctor Strange creates a prison for them and attempts to catch them all. Tom Holland’s Peter Parker accidentally lets the antagonists out of the specially made prison. We are then supposed to see clips of the lives of Andrew Garfield and Toby Maguire after the ending cameo of their movies. Somehow (still unknown), the trio meets up to defeat the villains once and for all. There is a heavy set rumor that someone very important is killed from the battles, but it is still unclear what happens.
The current cast list does include past actors such as Jamie Fox (Electro), an actor to play Green Goblin (unclear if Willem Dafoe will return), Alfred Molina (Dr. Octopus), and other minor characters. Still, none of these rumors have been verified, but we are guaranteed a third movie with Tom Holland.
