Wilson advances to national debate finals

Rising Prep senior Edward Wilson made the Finals of Congressional House Debate at the National Speech & Debate Association (“NSDA”) National Championships. Over 4800 students from almost 1200 schools across the country competed in 23 events in Louisville, Kentucky last week. Edward triple-qualified in three seperate events (Extemporaneous Speaking, Program Oral Interpretation, and Congressional Debate), choosing to compete at “Nats” in the Congressional House. In 8 rounds over 5 days, Edward participated in over 25 hours of direct Congressional debate, serving as a Presiding Officer for 9 of those hours. Only 20 of the original 380 delegates in the House earned a spot in the final session.
