New Teacher Profile: Lauren Markle
Prep has added a new member to its faculty for the 2022-2023 school year, Coach Lauren Markle.
Coach Markle played college volleyball at the University of Montevallo in Alabama and has been involved in the sport for most of her life. According to mississippivolleyball.com “She has personally trained and/or coached over 2,100 athletes and helped foster over 100 to go on to play in college.”
Coach Markle not only coaches volleyball, she is also the teacher of Prep’s Entrepreneurship Class. She enjoys teaching entrepreneurship because she studied it in college and has been an entrepreneur in the past. She is also works in Prep’s IT department and helps with online textbooks.
Coach Markle says her goal this year is to take her team to the state championship and has already had a strong season so far. As a coach, she puts a lot of emphasis on teamwork and believes in helping her team be good people before being good athletes. Coach Markle also thinks that one of the most important parts of a good team is having a welcoming and inclusive culture.
In her time away from Prep, Coach Markle enjoys swim and teaches private volleyball lessons.
