Prep defeated Jackson Academy on September 8 with a final score of 17-10. Prep had a great defensive performance, holding the previously dominant JA rushing attack to only 54 yards. Senior receiver Owen McCraney had a great game and made a crucial catch that led to a Prep touchdown, and Senior defensive end Andy Brown forced a fumble on the last drive to secure the win.
On September 15, Prep played Parklane Academy at home and defeated them with a final score of 54-14. Prep’s defensive secondary gave up a deep touchdown early, but were dominant for the rest of the night. Senior defensive backs Micah Stallworth and Matthew Mehrle each had a pick, and Matthew Laseter had several big tackles. Prep plays Evangelical Christian September 22nd at Patriot Field for the annual homecoming game.
