Ms. Sperri Strickland is a new addition to the Jackson Prep Lower School. Coming from a background in education, Ms. Strickland utilizes a unique skill set of teaching techniques to create the best learning environment for her students.
She said she became inspired by years of babysitting, looking back fondly at her time mentoring children. In response to being asked what she enjoys most about teaching young children, Ms. Strickland remarked on how “every day is different” and that she enjoys seeing “a lot of growth” in her students.
After fifteen years of teaching at McWillie Elementary School, Ms. Strickland pursued a position at Jackson Prep after her kids began attending. Ms. Strickland enjoys working at Prep, stating that it is “such a great place to work”.
Working in the K-3 department at the Jackson Prep lower school, Ms. Strickland ensures her students are engaged and inspired to explore creative and academic endeavors. She tries to ensure that students are having fun while developing a positive attitude towards school work. When she isn’t teaching, Ms. Strickland enjoys playing mahjong, traveling, and going to football games.
Ms. Strickland balances all this, maintaining a positive attitude and an effective learning atmosphere for all her students. She does this by incorporating some “me time,” and exploring her endeavors, like gardening. Ms. Strickland is one of the many new additions to the Jackson Prep lower school staff.
