Mr. Joshua Griffin is a new full time member of the Jackson Prep staff. He teaches VR and study hall and coaches chess.
Mr. Griffin has worked here at Prep for the last two years part time, while a student at Mississippi College. He’s said he’s excited to learn more and continue to be a part of the Prep community both in and out of the classroom.
Mr. Griffin grew up in Franklin County. Growing up in unincorporated Mississippi, the closest store that wasn’t Dollar General was thirty minutes away. He graduated with around 50 people from Franklin High School, and went to Co-Lin Community College.
While at Co-Lin Mr. Griffin got the opportunity to help with the chess program back at Franklin High School. This was Griffin’s first experience teaching chess. After Co-Lin, he moved on to Mississippi College, where he graduated in 2024.
