The Jackson Prep Tennis Team finished the season very strong, as the girls and boys both finished as runner-ups at the Mais Tennis Championships. Jackson Academy won for the boys and MRA won for the girls.
The Prep boys had several key victories throughout the tournament. Stewart Russ won Mixed Doubles with Bea Birdsall, earning half a point for the boys and half a point for the girls.
Reynolds Smith won Boys No. 1 Singles securing a full point for the boys which was enough to bring them second place. The girls also had big wins with
Charlotte Lucas winning Girls No.1 singles earning a point for the girls team. “ We’re incredibly proud of our players,” said Daniel Yepez, Jackson Prep’s head coach.
“They left everything on the court and fought hard.” The season was a great success overall, and the team is already looking ahead with hopes of winning state next year.
