Prep has always delivered the daily announcements on paper – until today.

The school decided to go digital with announcements, not only to save money but to also be environmentally friendly. In previous years, the school has printed over 10,000 sheets of paper for the announcements alone. Furthermore, once these are printed, they cannot be edited, but with the new digital system announcements can be edited instantaneously.

Sensitive information such as student absentees and dismissals will also be posted electronically, but in a separate document available only to faculty and staff, instead of in the general announcements.

Prep’s Chief Operating Officer Mr. Denny Britt says that the school simply took a step back and asked, “How can we do this better?” He also said that switching to paperless announcements is “one small step.” This means that the school plans to continue refining its efficiency while also improving its technology skills at the same time.

The change received positive responses from all of the faculty involved in making and distributing the announcements. This means we should be seeing even more development in Prep’s technology.
