Prep Defeats Cathedral in Season’s First Home Game
On Friday, September 4, Prep overcame the doubts of the media when they took down Cathedral 49-17.
Jackson Prep senior leader and defensive back Graham Eklund led the Patriot defense with two interceptions which were both returned for touchdowns.
Junior Jacob Crawley led the Patriots’ offense with multiple explosive plays. He had 5 rushes for 50 yards with one being a 49 yard run to give Prep a much needed first half score. He also had 2 receptions for 85 yards and one touchdown.
Freshman Jerrion Ealy, had 11 carries for 76 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Senior Haynes Horsley had a big touchdown reception of 53 yards from QB Chance Lovertich.
Before the game, Prep honored Walker Wilbanks with a flag ceremony led by the entire senior class. This ceremony hit home for a lot of the seniors and was a good motivation for the football team.
Prep looks to continue its MAIS dominance this Friday against Pillow Academy.
