Ms. Karen Tyrone, the former ExxonMobil vice president, was the lead speaker at the 9-12 girls science symposium today.  She could not make it all the way to Jackson Prep so she Skyped the students from her office.

The Young Women in Science symposium series focuses on female leadership and self value.  Her main point was trying to influence more young women to challenge themselves academically.  This is the first of four symposia that will be held this school year.
