Poetry Out Loud Winners Selected
On Thursday, December the 10th, Jackson Prep participated in a school-wide Poetry Out Loud
competition. Students selected from all grades went to Lindsay Hall to recite their favorite poems in front of a live audience. The English department puts on this event every year in order to find someone to compete in the district competition.
This year’s winner was Lawson Marchetti and his backup for the district competition is Jabari Aiken. Third place went to Mary Patton Murphy.
Lawson will compete against other schools in our district in the coming months. The top three winners of district goes on to compete in state, and the winner of it will go on to nationals.
