JP Pursuit 2016 Starts Off Strong

IMG_0422 IMG_0414Last year a new tradition was started at Prep –The Pursuit. This Christian event takes place annually on the first week back from Christmas break. The basic goal is to give students an opportunity to come together, worship, learn more about God, and even break off into small groups. Small groups consist of junior high students and are led by juniors and seniors who volunteered. This year there will be a new speaker, CJ Stewart. CJ grew up in Central, MS and attended Madison Ridgeland Academy. CJ would eventually join the military as a medic, which eventually led to a serious injury in Afghanistan that almost took his life. He now owns and operates Camp Downrange in Clinton, and you can find the website to learn more about it. The schedule is slightly different than last year; today the student body met at activity and homeroom for worship and listening to CJ. Wednesday and Friday have the same schedule. Thursday there will be no Pursuit during school, but there will be night activities on campus from 5-8:30. Junior high students will eat, play games, worship, listen to CJ, meet in their small groups, and even listen to testimonies shared by 10th-12th grade students. Although free food is only provided for the junior high, the entire school is invited, no matter who you are at Prep or what you believe.
