Newly distributed yearbook “A Work of Art”

During activity period on Thursday, August 16, all of the school was invited to Patriot Avenue to pick up their yearbooks. It was very chaotic, but worth the wait.

The theme of the Précis, the school’s yearbook, for the 2016-2017 school year was “A Work of Art,” and the cover prominently featured a watercolor painting by junior Abigail Pittman. The editors from last year chose the theme because they felt like the school year was “a masterpiece or a work of art and more than just a school year.”

Students and faculty enjoyed seeing themselves and their friends in the pages and seeing candid pictures from throughout the year. Many people were exchanging yearbooks with other students to get signed.

The Précis staff enjoyed handing out the yearbooks and seeing everyone’s reactions. “I like seeing their reactions when they see themselves in the book, especially the junior High kids.” says senior Elizabeth Stephenson, who was on last year’s staff and is serving as associate editor of photography and graphic design for the 2017-2018 yearbook, which is already deep into the planning stages.
