With the start of the new year, the Jackson Prep boys’ basketball team has moved from its usual games into a new season of conference play.  This game transition started on Friday January 10th in their game against Presbyterian Christian, and the switch have raised the stakes for the team games and made the matches more intense.

Jackson Prep Boys Basketball started the new year playing matches that weren’t conference against Bayou Academy, Brookhaven Academy, and the Jackson Victors.  Then, the team lost their first conference match against Presbyterian Christian, losing thirty five to forty three.  They then traveled to Parklane Academy and won their game there.  Their next game was against Madison Ridgeland Academy where they lost fifty to fifty seven.  The next game was a home match against Copiah Academy, where they won their next match.  The team then played Copiah Academy at a home match, and won against them.  Their most recent match was against JA, where they lost by two points in an intense JA match.

The starting lineup consists of seniors Andrew Purvis, Sam Buchanan, and Alexander Payne, and Sophomores Cam Brent and Lampton Moore. As they progress towards the conference tournament, their matches grow in importance.  You can watch their matches in person or on the Jackson Prep Sports livestream.
