WHO’S YOUR HERO? For Havens Smith, it’s her mom

Heroes don’t always wear capes and have superhuman powers. A hero is a person admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. Everyone has a role model that could be compared to a hero. Heroes come in all shapes and sizes, ranging from lifesaving physicians to political leaders to mothers and fathers.

Havens Smith’s hero is her mom, Cassie Smith.  Havens, a sophomore, said, “She’s been such a great role model for me.”

Whether on the cross country trails or in the classroom, Havens pushes herself to be her best, just like her mom does.  “She’s always pushing us to do our best and wants us to have a good future,” said Havens, who also said has received the best advice from her mother and has learned “so many life lessons.”

Havens concluded by saying, “She’s been such an amazing mom and I hope to be a mom like her someday.”
