Prep football is coming off of a state championship season, and are set up to potentially repeat despite many key players graduating.

Center Allen Rebich, running back Lake Womack, and linebacker Thomas Cross, among others, return as starters and their experience and leadership will prove invaluable in getting things going despite the changes in personnel.

A big change for the Patriots this year is the loss of quarterback Paxton Thompson and receiver Will Upton who shattered several school records in their tenure at Prep.

Quarterback Billy Puckett, along with receivers Owen McCraney, Hayden Frazure, and Major Quin will look to fill the void left by Thompson and Upton.

Overall, the future looks bright for Prep and with plenty of returning and young talent they have a real shot to repeat as state champs.

The Patriots kicked off the 2023 season on their own Patriot Field against Copiah on Friday, August 18, with a 42-7 victory.
