Saying “bonjour” to French Day

A whole activity-period filled with French-themed activities. What’s not to love?

Accompanied by the French Club, Coach Cory Caton put on another French Day for everyone on campus to enjoy.

It is an annual event, held with many different activities ranging from French trivia, a movie completely in French (with popcorn), a photo booth, and a face-painting station in case you wanted to express your French pride with a flag or even an Eiffel Tower. There was also a scavenger hunt.

Usually, French Day has been set up on Patriot Avenue, but it was moved last minute to the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) because of cloudy skies and cold winds outside.

When asked what the purpose of this event is, Coach Caton explained, “It’s pretty much put on each year to give students a way to explore a new culture.”

Last year’s theme was Mardi Gras, and this year’s was Le Festival de Cannes. “I actually let the French Club members choose the theme each year, so this is what they came up with this year,” said Coach Caton.

So if you missed out this year, be sure to make a stop by all the fun French activities for French Day 2020. You might learn something, but you’ll definitely have fun.
