This year, Jackson Prep introduced a sushi bar in the cafeteria, and it has been a hit among students.
Sophomore Maya Guice exclaimed, “I love the sushi in the cafeteria because it is so tasty; I get the California rolls almost daily!”
The sushi bar offers customizable options, allowing students to add or remove ingredients, as well as pre-made choices like California rolls, crispy crab rolls, and tuna rolls. Many students appreciate the variety, yet some are concerned about the price, which ranges from $4 to $10 per box – higher than typical cafeteria price.
Sophomore Susannah Floyd pointed out that this could be a drawback for some, while others believe the quality justifies the cost. Additionally, allergies to certain ingredients impose a challenge. Junior Elizabeth Sweat, who is allergic to seafood, expressed disappointment that not all students can enjoy the sushi.
Despite these concerns, overall feedback indicates that the sushi bar has been a tremendous success at Jackson Prep, with many students look forward to enjoying it every day.
